Planning a family function in Agra?
A simple checklist.
Whether it's a roka, a 60th birthday or a satsang, a family function is easier when you plan it in the right order. Here's the checklist we share with families who book with us in Kamla Nagar.
1. Fix the date early
For roka, sagai and wedding-season functions (roughly November to February), book 4–8 weeks ahead; weekends and auspicious dates go first. For birthdays and kitty parties, 1–2 weeks is usually enough. Keep one backup date in mind.

2. Count guests honestly
Make two numbers: confirmed family and 'maybe' guests. Book a hall that fits the confirmed number comfortably plus about 10%. A half-empty hall feels cold; an overcrowded one feels stressful. At Temptation we host from 20 to 250 guests across three halls.

3. Plan a pure veg menu everyone enjoys
A balanced banquet menu usually has:
- 2–3 starters: Paneer Tikka, Veg Spring Roll, Honey Chilli Potato
- Soup or chaat: Tomato Shorba, Hot & Sour Soup
- One paneer dish: Paneer Butter Masala or Shahi Paneer
- One kofta or special: our Malai Kofta is the most requested
- One dal and one dry sabzi: Dal Makhani, Jeera Aloo
- Breads and rice: butter naan, missi roti, veg pulao or biryani
- Raita, salad and a sweet
Keep spice levels moderate so both children and elders can eat comfortably. Browse our full menu.
4. Decide lunch or dinner
Lunch functions suit satsang, puja bhoj and functions with many elderly guests. Dinner suits birthdays, anniversaries and roka. Share the exact time so the food is served fresh and hot.

5. Décor, music and the little things
Confirm décor (balloons, flowers, backdrop, stage) and what the venue arranges versus what you bring. Plan a cake-cutting or ceremony spot, seating for elders near the front, and a quiet corner for small children.
6. Confirm everything in writing
A day or two before, confirm guest count, menu, timing and décor on WhatsApp so everyone has the same details. That's exactly how our booking form works: it sends your date, occasion and guest count straight to us on WhatsApp.
